Tanjung Pinang Trip 2009 (Day 1)

This short getaway trip is last minute arranged and I'm looking forward to it.

We have left our house at about 11.30am to take Bus 854 to Bedok Interchange to have our lunch before we queue up for Bus 35 to take us to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

It was estimated about 30mins of bus ride to reach Tanah Merah Jetty Terminal.

Xiouling have bought the ferry tickets for all of us. The ferry ticket is charging at S$50 nett and please be informed that children below 3 years old is also charging at this price.

We are supposed to board into Falcon ferry but due to some crop up, we have boarded onto Wave Master ferry.

Woohoo...We have reach Tanjung Pinang jetty around 5pm (Indonesia Time).

After our passports are cleared and stamped by Indonesia Immigration, we saw this building which was builded for the Yan Zi to harvest 'Bird Nest'.

We have boarded into this cab and head to Xiouling's house. After resting for awhile and put our stuffs aside, we are heading to a provision shop to try their kuehs and do some money changing.

This was Xiouling's favourite.

One ferry agent located at Potong Lembu to help customers to arrange and confirm booking of ferry ticket from Tanjung Pinang to Singapore.

Potong Lembu is a open air hawker centre and they have lots of cartwheel stall selling food.

These few dishes are our dinner. The seafood are good and satay sauce is pineapple satay sauce.

You don't get to see Macdonald in Tanjung Pinang as the Malays there like to eat Nasi and Ayam so KFC is the best choice for them.

The original & crispy recipe over there is very different compared to Singapore. The original was tasted crispy on the skin and juicier. The crispy is not hot and spicy.

After light supper at KFC, we head back to this Reflexogy to have full body massage. 1 hour is charge at S$10 or 2 hours at S$20. It is very very cheap compared to Singapore ones.

I was craving of 'King of Fruit' in Singapore for many days when popular season for it is in month of June/July in every year. I get to eat freshly dropped 'King of Fruit' in Indonesia...wahaha...Their durians are small size compared to Malaysia ones.

Tanjung Pinang Trip 2009 (Day 2)

I thought we have to go by public transport to go places for makan and city seeing. Due to my surprise, Xiouling has her own transport to bring us around. I would like to thank her becoz she is really a good host to us to bring us around to eat eat eat and city seeing. The funny part was she said she is very full after meal but she can eat eat eat. Hope she does not put on weight...wahaha...

This Bak Kut Teh stall is located at Potong Lembu and selling in morning only.

The size of the BKT pot is very small. The soup taste is very different as compared to Singapore and Malaysia ones. They have added abit of chinese herbs and use alot of pork parts to boil the soup. It has been a very long time that I had never ate Pig Blood already since Singapore do not allow it.

Somehow I saw one little girl wearing Dora mini helmet and I was curious about it where is it selling.

I was very surprised how come some shops are selling these petrol and sell to who. Xiouling said these petrols are for bikers who needs petrol urgently along the way and etc. I can say different country has different things to see and explore.

The roads in Tanjung Pinang is very congested. By right, it has 2 lanes for cars and motors but cars are parked at left side and one lane is left to travel.

Along our way I have seen so many helmet shops and from far I saw this shop selling my favourite Garfield. I was hesitated whether to buy him back or not. I get Xiouling to ask how much are they selling him and it was Rupiah 120,000 (estimated S$17). The shop seller said becoz of their approval sticker and that is why it is selling at this price. But I can't wear it in Singapore cos it is Indonesia approve sticker and not Singapore approve PSB sticker...hehe

My final decision is to buy him back. It was spray paint and not sticker sticking on it so I find it worth to buy.

Ah Lao have spotted this 'Lao K' beside the helmet shop and he told me that it is new 1st hand. Does yamaha still produce 1st hand 'Lao K'???

While buying goreng pisang, we saw this cart selling Indonesia's cold dessert.

Lawrence always looking for his favourite Goreng Pisang when going anywhere...haha...Quite alot of cart selling goreng pisang 3 pcs @ Rupiah 2,000.

This makan shop is selling nice Goreng Ayam & Tembeh. I love the sambal chilli cos it is very hot and spicy.

Carlsberg Advertisement between Daddy and Baby Jovan...hehe...Daddy, I want some please...

We was very angry and mad with the staff from Bintan Agro Resort. Xiouling have make appointment with the driver and it was supposed to pick up us from her house at 2pm. The driver give such nonsense excuses and in the end we reach the resort about 5pm.

We got ourselves a seaview room and thank to Xiouling =)

Nice Indonesia food in Sun Moon Restaurant. I was busy making baby Jovan to sleep and don't have a chance to take the photo of the foods... They have nice Avocado drink and a hint of coconut milk added in the drink. The sambal chilli squids is sedap and spicy, salad is good, green curry chicken is also good as well.

After the dinner, all of us have went back to room to rest and relax. Siao Cha Bor and Siao Da Bo went to Sun Moon Restaurant again to have cocktail drinks and enjoying the live band.
